Hastings United FC are delighted to announce that our chosen Charity of the Year for the 2026/27 season will be Hastings Foodbank.
Hastings Foodbank supports families across our community by providing three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. The Foodbank is part of a nationwide network, supported by the Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Cheryl Carey, Manager of Hastings Foodbank, said:
“We are delighted and incredibly grateful to Hastings United Football Club for choosing Hastings Foodbank as their Charity of the Year.
The people of Hastings are forever being generous despite being a community that understands poverty. We are currently supporting an average of 200 people per week, with a third of that number being children.
Many of the people coming to the Foodbank are working but still cannot make ends meet. Most people cite the increased cost of living as the reason they need our support.
For many families, it only takes one thing to go wrong to cause hardship – a freezer breaking down, car repairs, the cost of a new school uniform, health issues, or having to pay for a funeral.
We are so grateful to the Hastings community for their continued support, which enables Hastings Foodbank to ensure that our neighbours can put food on the table.”
Hastings United Football Club are incredibly proud to be partnering with Hastings Foodbank during the 2026/27 season and look forward to supporting the vital work they do within our community. Throughout the season, supporters, players, staff and volunteers will have the opportunity to get involved in a range of fundraising initiatives and collections, helping to make a real difference to local families facing hardship.
As a club at the heart of the community, we understand the importance of standing together and supporting those who need it most. We are excited to work alongside Cheryl and her team and hope that, together, we can raise both valuable funds and awareness for this fantastic local charity.
