Hastings United are delighted to announce that Tom Chalmers has signed a new contract with the club.
A product of our Academy, Chalmers, 23, is widely regarded as one of the finest talents to emerge from our youth system. After making his first-team debut at just 16 years old, Tom has gone on to play a pivotal role in the club’s recent success, 110 games including helping secure the Isthmian South East League and a return to Step 3 football.
The club are also proud to confirm that Tom has been appointed Club Captain ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Tom Chalmers said: “This club means a lot to me, so it’s a real honour to follow in the footsteps of Sammy Adams and captain Hastings United. The supporters were incredible during my recovery, and I’m looking forward to getting back out on the pitch and giving something back to them. I can’t wait for the season to begin.”
Manager Ronnie Dolan said: “Getting Tom signed was one of the main priorities for myself and the management team ahead of the new season, and I’m delighted we were able to get it done. Keeping Tom at his boyhood club is a huge moment for Hastings United.
