Hastings United are delighted to retain goalkeeper Sharna Greenaway.
Sharna was part of the reformation of The ‘U’s women’s team in the 2020/21 season, she went on to have success at Ashford Ladies before returning to The Pilot Field last season.
Sharna Greenaway:
“I couldn’t be anywhere else for my final season but my hometown club. Somewhere I spent alot of time as a young child with my mum working in the boardroom and my dad managing and working with the reserves team. It’s been a family affair at Hastings United and many many fond memories created. Stepping away will be hard but we have a full season to go before that time comes. COYU!”
Billy Wood:
“We are delighted to retain such an experienced goalkeeper. Sharna has let me know that this will be her final year playing, instead of letting that upset anyone, Sharna wants to use that as motivation for a great season and I have no doubt that’s something she will strive to do for her hometown club. A big character who cares about her teammates off the pitch, and a winner on the pitch having won this league previously. She has started pre season looking sharp, long may that continue.”

Hastings United are delighted to announce the signing of Charlie Ball, who joins from Eastbourne United.
Ball, a creative midfielder is no stranger to The Pilot Field, a Hastings lad who came through the Hastings United Academy, playing in our full time Under 19s programme.
Ball, moved to Eastbourne United in the 2018-19 season, and has gone on to be a huge fans favourite, an ever present for the past 7 seasons.
Charlie Ball:
“I am delighted to join Hastings and get going with the boys. It’s a club that deserves a lot of success and after speaking with Lee it was an easy decision for me. I’m looking forward to playing at The Pilot Field.”
Lee Carey:
“After speaking with Charlie it was clear he was ready for a new challenge, one Hastings is delighted to be giving him. He has been at Step 5 for some years with great success, scoring 21 goals from midfield is brilliant and will bring us some additional firepower. We both feel now is the time to step up and challenge himself bringing energy and a keen eye for goal into the squad. I am looking forward to working with Charlie this season.”

Hastings United are delighted to retain Lauren Skinner-Swain.
Affectionately known as ‘Sharpy’, will be playing her sixth consecutive season at the club and will continue as Club Captain.
Lauren Skinnner-Swain:
“I’m delighted to be heading into my sixth season with Hastings United. Having been here since the very first campaign, it’s been a journey that I’ve enjoyed and am proud of.”
“Each season has brought new challenges and growth, and now we’re focused on building on last season and hit the ground running with this amazing squad of girls.”
Billy Wood:
“Sharpy was one of our very first signings when we launched the team in 2020, her importance and commitment to the club is evident to all, which makes her the natural leader of the team. I’m delighted that she is staying with the club for her sixth season and will play an important role both on and off the pitch as we look to reach our goals this season.”

WOMENS FIRST TEAM
It’s great to be back at Hastings United and serve the club again as Women’s Manager. This month it’s been about making sure we have ourselves in a position to compete again. It’s important we have the right mix of staff, I have bought in Stefanos Akras as Assistant Manager, Todd Seavers as First Team Coach, Sam Piper as Physio and Joseph Knight as Video Analyst. All have worked with me in previous jobs, understand my standards, style of play and I know will work hard for the club to deliver. We had a successful meeting with the current playing staff, outlined our plans and objectives for this season, including our pre-season schedule.
With regards to new signings, do not expect an influx of players, we will be bringing in additional quality to help with what we have (maybe some faces of past success!), but we as a staff believe there is more to come from individuals in this group, with a bit more organisation and structure. We will also be working closely with Neil Cornwell who is the U18s lead this year, to support the progression of players in our Girls Academy. When we set the Girls section up four years ago it was always to develop players who either could go on to represent the First Team or beyond, and we hope we can continue this, but maintaining a competitive side and deliver successful Sundays again to The Pilot Field. – Billy Wood

INCLUSIVE & DISABILITY TEAM
Hastings United Inclusive and Disability team had a great season. We finished 4th with 8 points. Same points as last season, but last season we fought for every point getting them at the end of the season. We went up to lancing six times and came away with points every time apart from one visit. We look towards next season going on even stronger. We have hopefully five new signings for next season. Which are: Will Carey Shaun Hursey Edward Oliver Sam McLaughlan Lewis Richards We have some good talent coming in and will make this team even stronger. I believe next season will be our best one yet. More friendlies will be organised, hopefully we’ll play against Eastbourne at their ground again which again hopefully we will host them at the end of next season. More tournaments to look forward to as well. I honestly believe next season will be a great one and look forward to how they all progress. Will be keeping a close eye on the new signings and look forward to seeing them work.
247 Transport Solutions have confirmed that they will continue to provide, free of charge, a driver and minibus for the Team’s league fixtures at Lancing for the 2025/26 season. We are very grateful to 247 for their continued support of our Inclusive & Disability Team. – Lewis Willard
