The club is delighted to formally confirm that David Russell has accepted the offer of becoming a life member at Hastings United Football Club.
Dave has been a loyal supporter of the Club since his school days in 1989 having watched his first game with his Dad when Coventry City visited the Pilot Field and is another graduate from the old ‘grass bank’ terrace opposite the Main Stand.
Dave became officially involved with the Club as a volunteer in 2005, firstly as a match day steward before taking on the senior roles of Chief Match Day Steward and Club Health Safety Officer.
On matchdays you will se Dave at the main entrance gate and turnstiles with the assistance of Greg to make sure match days operate smoothly and of course manages and deploys all the match day stewards and operations. Like so many of our fantastic staff and volunteers the above is just a small part of what Dave does for our Football Club every week.
As well as overseeing health and safety and stewarding at all of the Men’s home first team games, Dave also looks after everyone at the Pilot Field for the hundreds of Women’s, Boys, Girls, Walking and inclusive and Disability Football matches that take place every season as well club an d community events such as the Firework night and local adult and youth cup finals.
In addition to this Dave drives the minibus for our fantastic supporters to all of the men’s away games as well as taking the women’s team and youth teams to various away matches throughout the season (55 in total last season alone!)
Co Chairman Dean White said ‘’ The dedication, care and time that Dave puts in to our club is un-matched. He is an integral part of the off the field team that keeps things moving forward and we are so grateful to him for his service over the years’’
From everyone associated with Hastings United, Thank you Dave.
