Sadly yesterday after our match against Herne Bay some unsavoury scenes took place as a minority of ‘away supporters’ physically assaulted Home supporters, volunteers and stewards both male and female.
Action was taken swiftly by the club and the local police. We would like to thank them for their efforts in diffusing the situation.
Hastings United Football Club will not tolerate violence of any sort both home or away and we condemn the individuals who used football as an excuse to behave the way they did today.
We have worked extensively to create club attachment to the community, with our crowds increasing and creating a welcoming family friendly environment, a place we would pride ourselves on being safe for all, today that was breached.
The club are working with our friends at Herne Bay Football Club and will share any information we can with them.
