As The ‘U’s get set to embark on their second season in the London & South East Women’s Regional League Division One South we can confirm three more retentions from last year’s 2nd place finishing squad plus the addition of a new face!
Rosie Muggeridge, Holly Carter and Megan Critchfield all will remain with The ‘U’s for the upcoming 22/23 season with Megan being joined by her twin sister Amy Critchfield, who joins from Worthing.
Holly Carter: I’m looking forward to another season at Hastings United. This will be my third with the club since joining at 15, and I feel this season is a great opportunity for me to learn and develop more as a player in a great team, they aren’t just great players, but we have a great buzz all together. Additionally I will be surrounded by players with years of experience and the determination to get the job done this year after just missing out on promotion. The coaching team have had the whole squad working hard throughout pre-season and I can’t wait to get started.”
Rosie Muggeridge: “I’m delighted to be signing for the club again this season. I’ve loved my time here and although we have had two great seasons, missing out on promotion by a point last year has certainly left us with a feel of unfinished business. We’ve got a great squad and I have no doubt we can get the job done this time around. Now I’m just looking forward to getting started at the weekend.”
Megan Critchfield: “I’m happy to be committing to Hastings United for another season. I know that with the quality of the team and the support we have behind us we are going to achieve big things this season. I’m looking forward to getting started with the league this weekend.”
Amy Critchfield: “I’m looking forward to joining Hastings for the season ahead. We have a promising side in the league and all the girls have been so lovely and welcoming. I’m excited to be playing alongside my sister again! Bring on Sunday.”
Billy Wood: “Holly and Rosie are two originals from the first season and have adapted, got better and overcome obstacles as we have bolstered the squad year on year. Rosie is everything you would want in a centre back, height, quick and loves a tackle, Holly has been with us from the get-go, and you forget just how young she is with her maturity around the squad. At 17 years old she is one of our youngest players, but I feel this is going to be a big season for her. Meg is ultra-reliable, composed and since joining last season has become an important member of the squad, as an anchor in midfield I don’t think there are many better and we are over the moon she is with us for another year, and joined by her twin sister Amy! Amy is a top top centre back who can naturally play in a multitude of positions, so will add value to our strong defence throughout the 22/23 season. I wanted Amy to join last year but I am glad we have convinced her to be part of our squad this season.”
