The ‘U’s are delighted to confirm Sophie Reed has committed for the 2022/23 season.
Reed, a former West Ham United defender is retained for her third season at the football club.
Sophie Reed: ‘I’m pleased to be signing again this season. I wasn’t sure whether to continue to play, but I absolutely love the girls and the buzz this team has. We had a great season coming second by one point, and with exciting new seasons already this summer it made the decision easy to definitely do one more season and hopefully contirnnute to getting this amazing team promoted.”
Billy Wood: “Sophie is a bit of a throwback centre half in the sense as I don’t think I’ve met anyone who loves the physical game more than her. Composed and assured Soph has been a proper asset since she joined the club and will be an important member of the squad again this season. She has looked sharp in pre-season coming back still with the hunger ahead of what is going to be another goal driven season for the football club.”
