Hastings United Football Club can confirm 1st Team Coach, Jon Meeney will extend his role with the football club, combining his role with the Men’s First Team alongside working in our Full Time Under 19 Academy programme.
Jon Meeney, “I am delighted to be joining the club full time, it was an easy decision to make as I have thoroughly enjoyed linking back up with Gary, working with the management team, the special group of players we have and experiencing our fan base. Behind the scenes there are a lot of good people working hard to grow the club. I can see the potential and I hope I can play a part on the pitch in my role. The two aims are to make the Mens First Team as competitive as can be, building on last season and progressing our game. We will strive to continually improve the U18s, U19s, U23s and First Team in building a clear identity and keep providing a pathway for players in their development.”
Billy Wood, “Jon is a great character, full of enthusiasm and knowledge, it’s a real pleasure to have him at the club. He has been infectious since his arrival with Gary’s appointment and will only strengthen the team involved in making sure the Academy is linked with the Men’s First Team process, alongside Andrew Brown and Ben Cornelius as a team they work great together and this will only strengthen with this change.”
