Hastings United are delighted to announce a double signing, Vicky ‘Vix’ Phillips and Dominique Beckett.
Phillips, a the tirelessly hard-working defender joins us after a lengthy spell at Eastbourne Town where she previously captained the side. Vix returns to football after having time out to recover from a knee injury. Attacking player Beckett joins us from her previous club, Bexhill United Ladies.
Vix Phillips: “Returning to football after two years out with a knee injury, I am excited for a new challenge and the opportunity to be part of this fantastic team. After witnessing everything the team achieved last year in their first season and seeing the ambition and desire of the club to continue to move forwards, develop and achieve even greater success, there is no place I would rather be playing. The atmosphere around the club and within the team is superb and I can’t wait to get out onto the Pilot Field for the season ahead.
Dominique Beckett: “I’m excited to join Hastings United as I believe they will provide me with excellent support during the season. I am looking forward to developing my skills and joining a squad that is passionate about women’s football. I’m looking forward to taking on the season’s challenges.”
Billy Wood: “I am delighted to finally announce both signings. Vix feels like an established member of the squad having been training with us on the back stretch of last season. She is not only ever reliable but brings a calming influence on the squad and will be a vital member on and off the pitch. Dom is a real exciting player to have on board, electric pace and will stretch teams going forward, she is also very committed and dedicated to making sure she is in the best condition to play and will add to the mentality of our squad. We are certainly putting together a strong squad with competition for places all over the pitch.”
