Hastings United Football Club are happy announce the retention of our Women’s captain, Rebecca Relf.
The midfield engine of the Women’s team, Relf finished as the club’s second top goalscorer of the 20/21 season with 9 goals, lifting the SCWGFL Premier trophy in the maiden year of the team.
Rebecca Relf: “It has been an absolute joy to be a part of this squad from the outset and an even bigger privilege to be the first captain of the women’s squad. In just 10 months we formed a side that then won our initial league, and without Covid-19, we were on track for the treble until cup games were stopped. Our squad is ever developing and I am SO excited to see how we take form over pre season and perform in a higher league. Fingers and toes crossed that we can have the supporters back in full force this season. Get me back on The Pilot Field with the girls ASAP!! #COYU”
Billy Wood: “I am delighted Relf has committed another season with The ‘U’s. She is such a dedicated member of the squad both on and off the pitch, leading by making sure she is in peak condition to push this team on. I know she is determined to win more trophies, just like we are as a club, that sort of desire to push on and compete leads our culture and as a leader she embodies it. Last season she added goals to her game and I am sure her box to box midfield style will keep the engine ticking in the team. Another positive step for an exciting season ahead.”
