To all our supporters,

Today as a nation we re-entered lockdown and whilst we understand the problems this will cause for many we have to think about the health and safety of each individual and we ask everyone to comply to the government guidelines in place.

We go into this lockdown in top form, the Men’s side sitting top of the Pitching In Isthmian South East League and in the 1st Round of the FA Trophy, with the Women’s side still unbeaten in the SCWGFL Premier Division and in the Quarter Finals of both the Sussex County Challenge Trophy & the SCWGFL League Challenge Cup. We await news from the leagues on how we come out of this period and back into action, the form across the club has been excellent and a credit to all involved.

The Eastbourne Borough game ticket situation: I advise every ticket buyer to email club@hastingsunited.com and we will process your refund either by bank transfer or collection/delivery of cash (dependent on how you purchased). Make sure you send us the proof and we can check against the list of names for the match.

Throughout lockdown the first time around I managed to do some door to door visits and some shopping for some of you ‘U’s supporters. To the vulnerable who need help I alongside other members of our team will be doing so again, just reach out to me either on social media platforms or via email (email above) and we will endeavour to help. Being able to get some time with you all in the last lockdown was a solace for me also.

Speaking to many of you on Saturday the thought of going into a lockdown was mentally draining and at this time we want to make it clear that you are not alone.

I want to take this time to thank Douglas Rowe and Hastings Sofa Company on their donations to the football club when we announced our free school meal initiative for the Friday of half term. I also want to thank Sam, Jo and the Women’s team with their help in prep and delivery of this initiative. Whilst we managed to give out and deliver many lunches our contribution was small in the larger fight. You have to give so much credit to the likes of Dom’s Food Mission, Surviving The Streets, Education Futures Trust and so many more who give their energy and countless time to contribute continuously. All the businesses who got involved throughout that week we salute your efforts, it doesn’t matter if your contribution was large or small, it’s about community spirit and care, be proud of your contributions and it’s made our team see what more we can achieve going into the Christmas period for our town.

A large thank you to all of our sponsors, you have been excellent and help us continue to push forward the way we want to.

Lockdown provides more challenges but I am content with the directors, staff, volunteers and players we will keep the spirits up and be ready for our return to action at The TGS Pilot Field. The ‘U’s support has been nothing short of first class, the noise you provide at matches home and away and the consistent swell of support around all that we are doing, it doesn’t go unnoticed.

KEEP SMILING, KEEP HEALTHY AND KEEP TALKING ABOUT THE ‘U’S 😉
