Hastings United are happy to announce the signing of experienced midfielder Rebecca Relf who joins our Women’s team from London & South East Regional Football League side, Eastbourne Town Women.

Relf, an all action and busy footballer with a wand of a left foot becomes the club’s fourth official signing joining Sophie Bridson, Sophie Reed and Izzy Foot as we gear up for our debut year in the Sussex County Womens and Girls Football League.

Rebecca Relf on joining The ‘U’s said, “After hearing the development of Hastings United locally to me I was intrigued to see what they had on offer. Billy’s vision and passion to establish the women’s team and for it to be held with the same respect as the men’s team is something to be admired. The ‘U’s have the perfect platform to really take the league by storm this season – a fantastic set up, manager, coaching team, facilities and already a few decent signings! All that made it impossible for me to say no to joining. I am beyond excited to be part of the club from the get go, bring on the season! #COYU”

Amy Sinden, Women’s Head Coach, “We are delighted to have Rebecca on board. Her experience and attitude has only given us positive things to talk about. Rebecca will be a huge part of our squad, not only a role model for many of the talented young footballer around our team but also to the young girls watching her on the pitch. She is not messing about when she has that ball at her feet!”

Billy Wood, CEO added, “I think Relf is probably sick of my voice by now but I am delighted she has bought into the ethos of Hastings United and will be joining us for the upcoming season. She certainly sets the tone amongst the squad and is a serious operator on the pitch, a player that I have seen play before a few times and knew her professionalism will truly help with the foundations of this team. She will out run, out smart and out work most and her determination will help lead this club in the right direction on and off the pitch, Relf is a true leader and will wear the shirt with pride.”
