As of Friday 1st May 2020, Hastings United Football Academy will be operated by Hastings United Football Club.
After setting up the Academy in 2013, Ben White went on to work at AFC Wimbledon, Peterborough United and Gillingham and now rejoins as Academy Manager and will oversee all footballing matters.
“I am looking forward to the challenge and building on the great work that has been done over the last couple of years.” said Ben White. “The club is now moving in the right direction on and off the pitch and I am proud to be part of it.”
Billy Wood, CEO added, “This is the next step in continuing the hard work, dedication and passion all at the academy have achieved up to this point. Now we take on the baton and look to grow our offering on and off the pitch with the importance of our culture at the heart of every decision we make. I am delighted to appoint Ben as Academy Manager and alongside the coaching staff will be giving them the support to achieve our combined goals, with the players’ development and experience paramount.”
At this time we can also confirm that Hastings United Youth (not affiliated with Hastings United) have opted not to accept our offer to be part of our club. We would like to put on record that the door is always open to their committee, coaches, parents and players.
Hastings United Football Club Academy currently operates U13-U18 with a pathway into our full time educational course at East Sussex College Hastings. We will be looking at expanding the academy offering by working closer in the community at the younger ages levels, more information regarding this will be released in the coming weeks.
We would like show our gratitude to Christian Kipps who is departing the academy. Kippsy alongside Roger Bond were the driven force in the club achieving Charter Standard status and all at the club would like to thank you for your efforts and wish you well in the future.
