HASTINGS UNITED ANNOUNCE PLANS FOR WOMEN’S TEAM AND WELCOME MANAGER APPLICATIONS
We are happy to announce the intention, that Hastings United Football Club will be launching a Women’s team for the 2020/21 season.
Our Chief Exec Billy Wood added, “This is way overdue by this football club and was incredibly high on my agenda when coming to this club. I was shocked that it was something the club didn’t have or any plans to make it happen, we had to put that right.”
Hastings United will be applying to participate in the Sussex County Women & Girl’s Football League from the 2020/21 season and are now open to applicants who would be interested in the role of Women’s First Team Manager.
Wood stressed how important this is to pushing Women’s football in Hastings. “I want to make it clear, this isn’t Hastings setting up a Women’s team to tick a box, give kit out and hope for the best. We have a culture we are curating at this club that has to be something we embed and make part of when it comes to the Women’s game. A Women’s first team is one step towards having a true pathway for females in this area. Eventually we want more age groups to be represented but at first you have to show who and what you are. This is Hastings United Football Club, a club committed to being community leaders and serving with distinction.”
The club are looking for an ambitious candidate for the role of Women’s First Team Manager.
“We are looking for a candidate who has a wealth of player knowledge in the Sussex/Kent area, fits our culture on and off the pitch and has the belief and ambition to take this club forward to compete at the highest level possible. We aren’t looking to make up the numbers and want to be competitive, the successful candidate will be given the tools to be able to do so and will work closely with myself in making sure we are pushing in the right direction.”
