We have been given an update from co-ordinators who have just returned from delivering the first wave of your donations. Most of these have been given to a new sports committee who have been set up to protect this field for the village children.
Many of them are Football for Peace coaches. Brighton uni go out every year and help train them in all aspects of running a team and how to organise themselves.
They will evenly distribute the items you have donated amongst the age range of teams.
Some of the items went to the Brikama football academy known as Greater Tomorrow. They are in the nearest town a 20 minute drive from the village of Gunjur.
The Children in the region are really well cared for and team leaders check on their education and monitor their welfare.
We will soon see more pictures from The Gambia and will continue to collect as much as we can to help. Thank you to St Catherine’s College in Eastbourne for delivering the kits for us.
