With the busy Christmas schedule out the way, we have now had a chance to catch up with the Gaffer who gave us an update on everything First Team:
‘It really has been a non-stop few weeks on and off the pitch which thankfully has seen us put a not so kind November behind us, we are once again on an upward curve thanks to a very committed and hardworking December.’
‘In terms of players coming and going, I can confirm that Kelvin Ogboe has been released and has since joined Whyteleafe whilst Jack Tucker’s loan from Gillingham has been extended for a further month, Jack has really settled in well at the Club and has made a significant contribution to the Team’s improved defensive performances, equally for Gillingham to recognise the benefits their player is getting from the HUFC experience really makes his extended stay a win-win all round.’
Regarding player unavailability, fitness and injuries the Manager added, ‘unfortunately Sam Beale suffered an ankle ligament tear during our Sussex Senior Cup defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion which will see him on the sidelines for a minimum of 8 weeks, whilst Lanre Azeez is still building towards full fitness following a hamstring strain. Also Hassan Ibrahiym continues to suffer with a chronic hip injury that he’s struggled with for over a year now. On a more positive note however, I’m delighted to confirm that Davide Rodari is only 6-8 weeks away from being in a position to once again put on the U’s jersey-an incredible recovery from such a serious injury which only reflects the hard work Davide has put into his rehabilitation.’
Agutter added, ‘regarding off the field, we have parted company with our Video Analyst’s Joe Stewart and Liam Jefferson-Id like to place on record my thanks to both for their efforts whilst at the Club. Joe’s and Liam’s departures means we are now actively seeking a First Team Video Analyst who will be responsible for the filming of First Team match-days…..all expenses covered.’ Any person out there interested please do not hesitate in contacting the Club.
