The Club can announce the signing of former Maidenhead Utd and Whyteleafe flyer Lanre Azeez from Ashford Utd, the former Nuts & Bolts attacker will go straight into the U’s squad to face Greenwich Borough on Tuesday.
Lanre commented, ‘Happy to have signed for Hastings United……The style of play suits me immensely and will allow me to improve whilst helping the Club reach promotion.’
‘U’s Assistant Manager Andrew Brown added, ‘fantastic signing who we have pursued for a long time…..he’s an experienced lad who will help the likes of Sonny Dullaway and co to develop whilst having an immediate impact on the pitch…..Lanre and Youssef have been there and done it, them along with your Sam Adams’s and Jack Dixon’s will give our young squad much needed help along the way with a view to achieving this seasons ambitions and goals.’
Regarding the ‘U’s squad the Gaffer Updated, ‘We can confirm that Tom Vickers has signed for Eastbourne Town to pursue much needed game time, whilst Alex Smith has suffered a stress fracture in his shin which is an injury setback too far for him which has meant he has also left the Club. We also continue to assess the squad including the very positive progress of some of our younger players such as James Pool, Panashe Makwiramiti and Academy U23 Charlie Curran who are all doing particularly well and who’s pathways we really don’t want to block.’
Agutter added, ’we have had a really positive start…….however we are aware that we are by no means the finished article which is why we have looked to add more experience and quality…..we need to keep working hard on and off the pitch, stay humble and keep looking to improve-if we do that then we’ll be fine.’
