Former Brighton & Hove Albion Academy graduate and local lad Tom Vickers is the next player to join the United cause for the 2018-19 season as Chris Agutter moves closer to finalising the ‘U’s First Team squad.
On signing, Vickers said, ‘I’m delighted to be apart of the coming season with Hastings United, after speaking with the Manager I had made my mind up very early where I wanted to be playing my football this coming season. The Manager made it clear, the ambition of the club for this season and I look forward to the challenge ahead.’
Agutter said, ‘Tom’s a great player, can play in a number of different positions, very well schooled in terms of his background at Brighton & Hove Albion and most significantly is a great character-a good human being that wants to play for this Club. Prior to Tom’s injury last season (that he suffered in the Home game against Lewes) he was, in my opinion, our outstanding performer-strong, robust and a leader, so now that I’ve managed to clear the decks in terms of trimming the squad getting Tom back in was always on the cards.’
