The Club is delighted to announce that Sam Cruttwell is the latest U’s player to remain at the Pilot Field.
Crutts explained, ‘I’m very happy to be given the opportunity to stay for another year at the Club. It was not a difficult decision to make to be honest, for the five years I’ve been at this Club I haven’t enjoyed my football as much as I am now. I love the style of football that we are playing and that is a massive part as to why it was such an easy decision to make. The fans have been fantastic to me since day one and I’d like to think that they are enjoying watching us as this for me is the most exciting team I’ve been a part of. I can only see this Club going forwards and I am very confident that next season will be our season, and we can finally give our fans something to cheer about. Getting this sorted now shows the confidence I have that we will be successful next season and I can’t wait to get started. And finally, a massive thank you to the Gaffer and the board for getting this sorted so quickly, COYU’s!’
Manager Chris Agutter commented, ‘Crutts has been fantastic for me, he has played a huge part in taking us from 19th (our league position when I took over) up to now 9th……he is crucial to the way that I want us to play-an all round exceptional footballer who is very athletic powerful and now hardworking!! With Charlie (Horlock), Dayshonne (Golding) and now Crutts committing longer term I know our building for the 2018-19 season is taking shape nicely-I’m really pleased!’
