Guernsey vs Hastings United – Preview
Following their record breaking 12 – 3 victory on Tuesday night, United’s focus returns to the Isthmian league on Saturday 30th November. United travel over to Guernsey for an early afternoon kick-off at 2pm.
Form and status (league games)
United are unbeaten in the Isthmian South East league, amassing 25 from a possible 33 points. They lie second in the table, three points behind Cray Valley but with two games in hand.
This will be United’s eighth game in November though only their third in the league. After beating Hythe Town (2 – 0) and Phoenix Sports (3 – 1) at home to maintain their 100% home record, they now face the challenge of an away game against a team unbeaten at Footes Lane Stadium.
Putting that statistic into perspective, Guernsey have played only two games at home this season. They have beaten VCD (3 – 1) and Sevenoaks (1 – 0). Of their ten away games they have won three, drawn four and lost three. This puts them in seventh place in the table on 19 points.
Recent meetings – 2018/19
Sam Adams scored the only goal of the game in a 1 – 0 victory the last time United visited Guernsey. In the home fixture Daniel Ajakaiye scored United’s goal in a 1 – 1 draw which saw United finish with nine men.
Whilst United have been involved in their cup games, Cray Valley have been dropping league points after home draws with Hythe (1 – 1) and Guernsey (1 – 1). With two games in hand United will want to keep up the pressure on the league leaders.
The game kicks off at 2pm and United will be streaming the game live in the Pilot Bar, open from 12pm.
